Moment Skis joins the Athletes With a Cause team

Reno, Nevada – Straight outta North Reno and backed by some of the Sierra’s best freeride skiers, Moment skis have found a diehard local following in just a few short seasons. The reason? Their innovative and hand made two-plank designs excel in pow, crud, corn, goo, boilerplate…basically if it’s white and frozen Moment makes a ski to slay it. Now they’re teaming with Life More Natural to make a difference, not just sick skis. With the ‘09 season just around the corner, Moment and LMN are teaming up to send some local underprivileged kids to ski school at Sky Tavern.

Boreal is Open

First Day on Snow

Wednesday - November 5th, 2008

A tall giant also known as my roommate Craig wakes Luke Jacobson (VP/Engineer of Moment Skis) and I up as he storms into the living room of Casey Hakansson (CEO of Moment Skis) in his ridiculously loud ski pants. Shit! 5:30 am. came fast this morning. Normally I would be extremely annoyed by this harsh awakening, but this morning is different.

It’s a Powder Day! Well, at least we hope it is. It’s been snowing on the Mt. Rose summit the past few days. As we drive up to the summit I grow a bit concerned as to whether or not this is just a bad idea. The road is covered with snow, and one unlucky driver is digging his car out of the small snow bank. I guess you can call it a snow bank. Hmm, anyways.
