Most companies figure it's fine to put a young gun on a foam-cored imitation of a real ski, because who cares about quality if they're going to outgrow it in a year anyway, right? Well, we don't do that. The Carson is a mid-fat, Mustache Rocker kid's twin, built to the same exact standards as our adult skis with hand-laid construction, a custom-profiled full wood core, full damping perimeter, and beefy edges that can take a beating. This way, when Junior or Janeior grows out of his or her pair, they'll still have plenty of life left for little bro, little sis, or the swap meet at the rec center.
|Length||Tip||Waist||Tail||Radius||Effective Edge||Weight (pair)||Mount|
|136cm||112mm||83mm||103mm||11.0m||1080mm||4.61lbs / 2.09kg||-4cm|
|146cm||114mm||84mm||105mm||12.0m||1121mm||5.18lbs / 2.35kg||-5cm|
Rocker at the tip and tail and camber underfoot allows for incredible float and maneuverability in the trees and chutes while maintaining a significant amount of edge hold for both the icy runouts and the groomers.
ASPEN/PINE WOOD COREFull length, knot free, in house laminated wood core gives this ski its unique blend of liveliness and dampening. All wood sourced in the USA.
UHMW SIDEWALLThe strongest and most durable sidewall material on the market ensures you have the best edge hold available while ripping the piste.
CARBON FIBER HYBRID COMPOSITE STRUCTUREA custom blend of triaxial fiberglass and carbon fiber helps give this ski its torsional rigidity along with added longitudinal pop.
4001 DURASURF BASEHands down the most durable base on the market. Dont worry about those snow snakes.
2.2 EURO EDGEThere are only handful of edge manufacturers in the world. We go straight to the source in Europe to offer the best edge possible. We do additional heat treating and bonding prep in house to make sure your edge stays sharper, lasts longer and can handle a beating.
Third pair of carsons
These are the third pair of carsons that I’ve bought for my three kids. They are instantly better skiers with these skis. Buy these, stop paying for ski school/babysitting, and ski with your kids all over the mountain.
7 Year old Rips his new Moments
My son is 7, skis a lot at Kirkwood, CA and there were a few runs and drops that he was capable of but intimidated by. He has been asking for a pair of PB&J's all season. So with his early bday gift on his feet, going from 112cm to 121cm he not only hit the runs but dropped a few chutes for the first time. He is skiing better, with more confidence and is one happy kid on his new skis. Check out the details on https://www.instagram.com/jaffekids/
Ultimate PB&J Review
My name is Akira. I am 9 and on the Heavenly Freeski team. I have skied Shreditors and Juvy before my Dad got me the Moment skis as a reward for making the team. So far I absolutely love them. They are really fast. Since they are so light, I can get more air on my jumps off logs. I am also less tired because of these skis. It is easier to turn on mogols. I am looking forward to an amazing season on my Moments. Hopefully when my baby brother is big enough he can ski them too. He is on the Heavenly Jr. Race team.
Carson's tear up the East Coast
Bought these for my son E, he loves them and they work well on every thing the East Coast is famous for (or not famous for) they did struggle a little on boiler plate ice but a trip to the tuning table helped a lot. It would appear that this ski is only limited by the skiers bravery. They went through everything E could throw at them, the glades, the park, the corduroy, the epic powder we got this year, (stop laughing it happened), the Ski The East comps, the IFSA comps, all the rocks, stumps and jumps Vermont had to offer and lets not forget the air bag and water park aerial training sessions. These skis just kept going. I also think he liked the fact that everyone kept asking what kind of skis are those? My opinion the best all around youth ski ever. I think E is hooked on Moment skis for Life. Thanks for a great product and a year full of smiles. Now I think I need a pair to keep up, skis that is, PB&J anyone?
She loves the Carson's
We bought a pair of 115 Carson for our five year old at the time Grandaughter. She has skied since 2 and I thought the Nordica's she was on were ******. Having several pairs of Moment's in the family I saw that Moment makes an honest to goodness kids ski, wood core, sandwich construction, not foam like many kids skis. She was less than thrilled with the graphics, took one run ( at Alta) and wanted to try her old skis. She made one run on the Nordica's asked for the Moment's back and told us to throw the Nordica's out. She immediately was a better skier. It took her no time to realize she had better control. She skied faster, carved turns without skidding and she is confident enough to hike into some of Alta's most challenging terrain. Don't believe me how well she skis them, look up Alta's Picture of the day from March 26, 2016. She hiked into Catherine's ripping the pow on a pair of Moment Carson's. Next up is a new pair of Carson's and probably a pair of Zephyr's for powder days.
