The Tallac is our tour version of the Belafonte, with Triple Camber Front Rocker, flat notched tail, and (relatively) svelte 106 waist. Why make a ski like this? Because super-fatties suck on long approaches, twin tails can’t kick-step, and modern mount points don’t play nice with heavy packs and ramped-up bindings, that’s why. The Tallac features our Low Fat Layup to shave extra weight off every step, but we made the shovel slightly stiffer to give you more bust in the crust. We used to wonder whether we could play the backcountry game as well as those companies who make skis for rock climbers. Now we have the Tallac, and we wonder no more.
