Oh To Be Young | A Kid Ski That’ll Actually Hold Up

The Carson takes the DNA of the Wildcat and scales it for the future of skiing — fearless, playful, and always down for another lap. With a twin tip, progressive mount, and plenty of rocker, it’s designed to give young skiers the same power, pop, and control we demand in our own setups. It’s not just a kids’ ski — it’s a real ski for kids who don’t hold back. Start ‘em young, start ‘em right, and let the Carson do the rest.

    • This is a general guideline and is only a basic suggestion of the proper size. Where you ski, how you ski, and what skis you've ridden in the past should be taken into consideration.
    • The Carson skis ski shorter, are exceptionally easy to pivot and turn, and are more forgiving than most. Don't be afraid to size up for room to grow.
    • If you are still on the fence and ski confidently and aggressively size up. If you ski more conservatively or timidly size down.
    • Beginner assumes a basic understanding of and ability to ski. For those who have never skied or cannot ski down runs without falling we recommend renting/demoing to start.
If you are unsure, have questions, or feel your recommended size is incorrect, please chat, call or email us. We are happy to discuss specific sizing based on your build, skiing style, and existing quiver / past skis.

Mustache Rocker

ingredients

Full length, knot free, vertically laminated in house. Strong, light and poppy our poplar / pine core provides an energetic, snappy and responsive platform while keeping things light underfoot.

Extruded sidewalls constructed of modified Acrylonitrile-Butadiene-Styrene (ABS) provide stiffness, dampening, and durability, which allow for more impact resistance and easier repairs that stay put so you can bring the abuse year after year, season after season.

A modified version of our custom blend of carbon fiber and triaxial fiberglass build just for the kiddos. So they can press, pop, play and charge to their heart’s content.

We use a textured nylon topsheet material enhanced with sublimated graphics‒a non-toxic and eco-friendly alternative to silkscreen. We chose this topsheet material to ensure optimal durability and impact resistance while maintaining crisp and bright graphics.

Skis are tools not treasures and that means they need to take a beating which is why we use carbon infused sintered UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight PolyEthylene). Harder, faster and with better wax absorption and retention than extruded bases this is the industry leader for performance and longevity.

Rubberized VDS foil is placed at strategic locations throughout the construction to increase bond strength and provide vibration damping for more stability and increased control.

There are only a handful of edge manufacturers in the world. We go straight to the source for the best of the best. We use only 2.2mm Rockwell 48 hardened steel edges. Heat treated additionally in house to ensure you get nothing but the absolute most out of your skis.

8yo loves them

Just got 146's for next year, the kid is still 135cm tall. He demanded to try them immediately, and RIPPED THAT CORN despite the skis being 10cm longer than him! Looking forward to next season!

Great All-around Ski

I am 9. I weigh 65 lbs and I am 4'6". I have been skiing since I was 1.My parents were trying to decide between 136 and 146. I knew I wanted 146 so they will last a couple years. I'm glad I did because after a little getting used to, I can ski them everywhere I want. They are stiff, but I can still turn them in steep bumps and trees. On groomers, you can carve big turns or make fast little turns. I havent had a chance to ski them in powder yet, but I think they will be great because are lively. They are playful in the bumps and they also let you carry a lot of speed on groomers.Oh, and the graphics are cool.

Haven't got them on the snow yet, but the graphics are dope, as expected, and they definitely have the feel of a proper ski. I'm sure theyre gunna rip just like both my pairs of moments! The little is super pumped and can't wait to get sendy in them!

BadAss Ski - youth Ripper ⚡️

These guys at MOMENT are great - super helpful, fast to get back to you, what people should be - thx bros! Got these for my 13 year old Ripper - gonna mount em at moment - which they do for FREE when buying a pair from them. My grom loves the shape - simple but sweet graphics - and is ready to charge.

Kid loves these things.

He's an enthusiastic 4th grade skier that likes to drop things bigger than he is, and these fit the bill perfectly!

My daughter loves the skis

My daughter, 7 year old, was doing Kirkwood JETs. I got her 121 skis last summer. I was afraid that the ski is too long for her. Well... she loves it. She is a careful girl, but she learned how to rip so fast by the end of this misfortuned COVID season, I could barely keep up with her; I couldn't go faster when she raced through SnowSnake Gully at Kirkwood (if you ever ski Kirkwood, you know it). As of today she has only one pair of skis, so she took it to trees, powder, Chair 10, even though it was icy, just everywhere. I was hoping to find used Moments because right now the ski is for one season, but couldn't find it anywhere. Even new ski has decent price, so we'll be buying longer one in a year. I think she'll use the ski one more year. I have Sierra myself. It is my don't know conditions ski. I even took it to Argentina for BC tour (no skins; we did hiking). They are a little heavy to carry up, but totally worth it going down. I will be getting eventually other moment skis for myself.

Unrivaled junior sticks

My son rips these (just bagged bronze at the junior FWT in Kicking Horse) and the local tech is always impressed by the construction and how well-finished they arrive. Love Moment!

Third pair of carsons

These are the third pair of carsons that I’ve bought for my three kids. They are instantly better skiers with these skis. Buy these, stop paying for ski school/babysitting, and ski with your kids all over the mountain.

7 Year old Rips his new Moments

My son is 7, skis a lot at Kirkwood, CA and there were a few runs and drops that he was capable of but intimidated by. He has been asking for a pair of PB&J's all season. So with his early bday gift on his feet, going from 112cm to 121cm he not only hit the runs but dropped a few chutes for the first time. He is skiing better, with more confidence and is one happy kid on his new skis. Check out the details on https://www.instagram.com/jaffekids/

Ultimate PB&J Review

My name is Akira. I am 9 and on the Heavenly Freeski team. I have skied Shreditors and Juvy before my Dad got me the Moment skis as a reward for making the team. So far I absolutely love them. They are really fast. Since they are so light, I can get more air on my jumps off logs. I am also less tired because of these skis. It is easier to turn on mogols. I am looking forward to an amazing season on my Moments. Hopefully when my baby brother is big enough he can ski them too. He is on the Heavenly Jr. Race team.

She loves the Carson's

We bought a pair of 115 Carson for our five year old at the time Grandaughter. She has skied since 2 and I thought the Nordica's she was on were crappy. Having several pairs of Moment's in the family I saw that Moment makes an honest to goodness kids ski, wood core, sandwich construction, not foam like many kids skis. She was less than thrilled with the graphics, took one run ( at Alta) and wanted to try her old skis. She made one run on the Nordica's asked for the Moment's back and told us to throw the Nordica's out. She immediately was a better skier. It took her no time to realize she had better control. She skied faster, carved turns without skidding and she is confident enough to hike into some of Alta's most challenging terrain. Don't believe me how well she skis them, look up Alta's Picture of the day from March 26, 2016. She hiked into Catherine's ripping the pow on a pair of Moment Carson's. Next up is a new pair of Carson's and probably a pair of Zephyr's for powder days.

Carson's tear up the East Coast

Bought these for my son E, he loves them and they work well on every thing the East Coast is famous for (or not famous for) they did struggle a little on boiler plate ice but a trip to the tuning table helped a lot. It would appear that this ski is only limited by the skiers bravery. They went through everything E could throw at them, the glades, the park, the corduroy, the epic powder we got this year, (stop laughing it happened), the Ski The East comps, the IFSA comps, all the rocks, stumps and jumps Vermont had to offer and lets not forget the air bag and water park aerial training sessions. These skis just kept going. I also think he liked the fact that everyone kept asking what kind of skis are those? My opinion the best all around youth ski ever. I think E is hooked on Moment skis for Life. Thanks for a great product and a year full of smiles. Now I think I need a pair to keep up, skis that is, PB&J anyone?
